What's New for the

2012 Susan G Komen WNY Race For the Cure


 New Pre-Registration Packet Pick-up Locations!

Due to the size of our race we needed to find one location for our packet pick up days.  The new location will be at The Larkin at Exchange Building, 726 Exchange Street, Buffalo, NY 14210.  Our pre-registration packet pick-ups are scheduled for Wednesday, June 6 and Thursday, June 7 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.

New Prices and T-Shirt Sizes for Youth and Child Registrations!

Youth registration is for children, ages 6 - 13. The new price is $10, which reflects a decrease of $5 from previous years.  Youth registrants MUST be accompanied by a registered adult.

Starting this year there will be a limited number of kids t-shirts (S, M & L) for those registering as a Youth.  The kids shirts will be available on a first come first serve basis at the packet pick-up locations.   Please note that kids registered in the child category (ages 5 & under) are not eligible for t-shirts.


Child registration is for children who are 5 yrs old and younger. There is no longer a charge for children in this age group that accompany a registered adult.  Please be aware that children registered under this category will NOT receive a t-shirt. T-shirts are only given with youth and adult registrations.

Sleep in for the Cure 

Can't make it to the race this year?  Have a hard time getting up early enough to make it to the race on-time?  No Problem.   We are excited to announce that this year we have added a Sleep in for the Cure category.    Participants who register to Sleep in for the Cure will receive a t-shirt. 

The Promise Society

Komen WNY proudly announces the Promise Society!

Each year The Promise Society will honor individuals who raise $1,000 or more for Race for the Cure.


More information coming soon about the exciting incentives which come with membership in the Promise Society.

Survivor Photo Time Change

This year, our Survivor Photo will be taken AFTER the race at 11:30 a.m in front of the pink balloon arch.

1st Annual Team T-Shirt Contest

Think your team has the most creative t-shirt?  

Well it is time to prove it.   Each team will be able to submit one of their t-shirts to the Teams t-shirt contest.   All of the T-Shirts received will be displaced on race day and race participants will be able to vote for their favorite t-shirt by make a $1 donation to the race.  More details can be found in the Teams tool kits located on the Teams webpage.

Company Registration Codes

Companies that would like to pay for the registration fees of their employees may purchase prepaid registrations.   When you pre-purchase registrations you will be given a special code to provide to your employees to use to register online.  Click here for the form to purchase a code.

New 1 Mile Fun Walk Course - Delayed to 2013

Due to construction on the new 1 mile course we had to revert back to our 1 mile course from the past couple of years.
