Each year, 25% of funds you donate to our Affiliate goes toward the Komen National Research Program. Those research dollars support scientific research, conferences, research education and clinical trials.
The clinical trial is the research stage that is the most exciting, as it is the closest step to new approaches becoming available to patients.
Currently, Komen is funding over 70 products in the clinical research arena.
To learn more about the clinical trials we fund, or how to talk with your doctor about participating in a clinical trial, click here...

remove barriers, like language and transportation, for screening, diagnostics and
treatment.
Our investment also funds a monthly support group for those living with Metastatic Breast Cancer.

Each year Komen Upstate New York invests in community-based programs aimed at helping to achieve our Bold Goal: reducing breast cancer deaths by 50% in the U.S. by 2026.
Early detection, access to screening, treatment and quality care is what saves lives. That's why, as an Affiliate, we have invested over $15.5M across our 49 county service area since our inception.
Each funded project reports back on their progress and key data, which is then shared with Komen Headquarters programs and amongst other Komen Affiliates nation-wide.

With support from Komen Upstate New York and Komen Greater New York City, New York State's 'Non-Medical Switching Bill' (S.2849 Peoples-Stokes | A.2969 Breslin) was PASSED by the state legislature!
This bill helps to ensure that all prescriptions breast cancer patients are
currently taking will remain at the same formulary level and cost
throughout the contract period.
Consumers who buy a health insurance
plan based on a specific drug formulary are often patients with chronic
illnesses, such as breast cancer, that have worked with their health
care team to find the best treatment plan for their specific needs.
Thanks to this legislation, prescriptions will stay hands of doctors and based on what is medically best
for the patient.
